So the indoor triathlon that was supposed to be on Sunday last week got cancelled. Fack. This is the second time that a race I was working towards got cancelled. This is the one that I actually really look forward for because it is indoors ( I hate winter) and it is all timed so the farther you go in your allotted time, the higher you place. Now there is nothing that i can really do in regards to the running, my slow speed is mine, any attempts to get faster are usually met with sprains and pains.
So the only real chance I have to get some points are the swimming and the stationary bike. I have been working on my sprinting the last number of weeks and actually felt like I was improving a little. I have been consistently hitting 20 lengths ( 500m) in the pool in 10 minutes and getting between 7.18miles and 7.76miles on the stationary bike for 20minutes. Again the running is the running, but I have been working up the speed of the treadmill the last week or so, from my usual speed of 4.0-4.5 to 4.5-5.2 which for me is the fastest that I have moved on the treadmill in a considerable time.
So now I am unsure what to do.
My hope was to start running outdoors in april, but the effing snow wont leave for longer then couple of days, and I am starting to feel like I am getting in a rut. The new cigars are def a motivation to get my workouts in, but it took everything in me to not have one on Sunday because i didnt put the work in this week.
The whole vegetarian experiment may be fast coming to an end, as I wasnt doing it for weight loss, but I am gaining weight because of all the carbs I am eating to feel even close to full. It also hasnt really served its purpose. The intent was to lower my risk of gout flare up, but I have had two in the last 3 weeks. Now neither of them were very sever in regards to pain, but the one last week prevented me from running or biking as the swelling was in the pad of my right foot making it hard to put any pressure on my that half of my foot.
The only upside is that i have felt a little better in the belly, in relation to belly health. Not fatness. Still have plenty of the fatness.
So really dont know what to do next.
Its day like 48 of the no meat, no pop allowed world tour, and seriously loosing ground fast. Had a sip of a Dr. Pepper last night and was like where have you been all my life. I have def strayed in that part of the challenge, had a couple of the Mountain Dew energy drink cans, 3 total I think, because who can say no to a puppymonkeybaby?! WHO I ASK YOU?
Anywho, lets hope new week new me!
2 weeks ago - many workouts
last week - not so much
