So first off, good week, solid week, resulted in a #cigarSunday so you cant complain about that. On the food side, well my utter collapse out of vegetarianism has been blissful. Sorry vegetarians but I again feel very bad for you.
The gym has started to thin out some with students studying for exams ahhhhh summer gym is around the corner. But in the last week or so there has been some serious work out bruh's huddling around machines, grunting under the tremendous weight the are lifting and probably more high fives then a team of one armed hillbilly axe throwers. Not sure why that would generate more then average high fives, but I liked the imagery.
There were packs of these lil lifters roaming the gym cheering for each other upon each accomplishment. Lifting weights, squatting things, jumping on platforms, I was waiting to walk into the showers and hear " good lather bro, way to luffa".
Not that I am against a little support in the gym, a deliberate head nod, a ' howsshegoin' in passing off a machine to another person, politely waiting for the water fountain, and a soft smile to the person behind you reassuring them you dont intend to completely fill up your bottle while they wait.
You know, canadian bro'ing.
I guess this might be an extension of my introverted gym etiquette guidelines, or my complete lack of bro-like qualities, but I just dont get the cheering for things you came to do specifically in this place and time. Like if you showed up to well really anything and you did something unexpected, or funny, then yes cheering and high fives. But weights in a non olympic, highland games environment, not so much. Sorry bro's.
So last week went something like dis:
Monday: 1500m swim
Tuesday: 13 mile ride + 5km run
Wednesday: 1500m swim
Thursday: 2000m swim
Friday: off
Saturday: 3km run + 13mile ride
Sunday: 4mile run + 10mile ride
But at the end of the day I would take a little bro'ing around over naked old man bag in my face wanting to talk about the weather while I am avoiding eye contact and trying to get changed, any day.
