Well hey there.
So this was a tough week trying to get all my workouts in as work and sickness in the household kicked in hard this week, but happy to say all workouts were done, and actually had a couple of person bests this week. One of my swims this week I was able to get my 750m time down to 15min28seconds. I was pretty pumped.
I also had a 20km ride this week that i got to 40min5seconds. I have also been able to start moving the speed of the treadmill up consistently all week. So a good week! Here are how the workouts shaped out:
Monday: off
Tuesday: 3x750m swims + 250m warm up and cool down + 5km run
Wednesday: 2x750m swims + 1x500m swim
Thursday: 25km bike + 6km run
Friday: 2x750m swims +1x500m swim + 20km ride
Saturday: 20km bike ride + 6km run
Sunday: off
I continue to work on the nutrition side of things but man its tough. If you look for low fat, it has high salt, if you cut carbs you are increasing fat, if you up protein you are adding sugar. It is starting to take me like an hour or more to do the grocery shopping now with all the label reading and trying to think ahead to what i will eat for each meal. Most of the time when i am home I am so tired for work and exercise i just have a bowl of bran flakes.
I have eaten a large box of PC Blue menu Bran Flakes in a week. Without getting too specific, our toilet paper budget has doubled. haha.
Okay that maybe a bit of an overstatement, but there has to be some food options out there that are simple and dont lower the amount of one thing and increase things in all other areas.
This is for sure my biggest struggle.
There is nothing that will ever replace chips and at some point i have to move on from that. sigh.
My sodium numbers are the worst. So that is going to be something i work on in the next couple weeks, because i dont want my heart to explode with the increased exercise. That is a tough one to come back from, my luck it would happen in the change room and i would be lying there surround by would be rescuers, all the old guys rallied around me with low hanging bags surrounding me like a hairy, albino pear orchard. #worstnightmare
Ill leave you with that image, you are welcome! haha
